Update from June 2016 Townhalls
During the last few weeks of June 2016 the Health and Human Service Transformation Leadership Team held townhall meetings in Springfield and Chicago. Attached please find the powerpoint presentation and handout that was shared.
The Health and Human Services (HHS) Transformation is a plan designed to revamp the State’s current system, changing it into one of coordinated and community based supports for all Illinoisans. The plan includes five major areas:
- Education and Self-Sufficiency
- Moving from Institutional to Community Based Care
- Paying for Value, Quality & Outcomes
- Prevention and Population Health
- Data Integration and Predictive Analytics
Accelerating Illinois’ Modernization (AIM)
The state of Illinois has 420 separate systems for financial reporting, awarding grants, purchasing, and human resources, many of which are not compatible with each other. To increase efficiency, the administration has launched a new data systems initiative called Accelerating Illinois’ Modernization (AIM).
As part of the major HHS Transformation process, this multi-agency information systems project will look simultaneously at information technology, business operations, and organizational cultures across agencies to consolidate the state’s divergent information technology functions.
